MyDiary is a personal journaling app. A diary is one of the most private things you will ever write — we built this app with that in mind from day one. This Privacy Policy explains clearly and honestly what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.
Short version: your diary entries, photos, and locations belong to you. We do not read them, sell them, or share them with anyone.
We collect only what is necessary to make the app work for you.

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, machine learning training on your personal content, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
MyDiary includes an optional AI writing assistant. When you use this feature, the text you submit is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a response. Only the content you explicitly send to the AI is transmitted — the rest of your diary is never accessed by this feature.
You are always in control. Using the AI assistant is optional and requires a deliberate action on your part each time.
All diary content is encrypted before leaving your device. Our servers store only ciphertext we cannot read.
Even with full database access, no one at MyDiary can decrypt your entries. The key is yours alone.
Enable the PIN lock in Settings so your diary stays private even if someone else holds your phone.
No analytics SDKs, no ad networks, no third-party trackers embedded in the app.
MyDiary offers an optional Google Drive backup feature. If you choose to enable it, the app requests permission to write encrypted backup files to your personal Google Drive. We access only the files our app creates — nothing else in your Drive is read or modified.
Your backup files are encrypted with the same key as your on-device data. Google cannot read their contents, and neither can we.
You will occasionally see sponsored cards in the app. These are not programmatic ads — we do not use ad networks and we do not share any of your data with advertisers.
Sponsored content is manually reviewed and curated by us. It is shown equally to every user and is not personalised based on your diary content, behaviour, or demographics.
Free for good causes. Non-profits, fundraisers, community drives, and charitable campaigns are welcome at no charge. Just reach out.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Period.
We share data only in these limited circumstances:
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal information and encrypted diary data associated with your account is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.
You can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at the email address below.
MyDiary is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. During registration, we verify that users are at least 13 years old using their date of birth.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete the account.
You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days:
To request account deletion, send an email to the address below with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request and confirm deletion within 7 business days.
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you via email or through a prominent notice in the app before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Continued use of the app after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
